Trinity CertTESOL Hybrid Course

Get started in your TESOL career with a Trinity CertTESOL qualification.

Become qualified to teach English. \The Trinity College London CertTESOL (level 5 OFQUAL qualification) is internationally recognised as an initial certification for English language teachers in the UK and overseas.

The CertTESOL online course will prepare you for teaching students both online and in a classroom environment.

Price: £1,550 + Trinity College moderation fees (£150 per candidate – to be confirmed).

The course provides asynchronous training (online / distance learning), with 2 further weeks of in-person training and teaching practice to follow on.

Coordinated by Course Leader and Senior Teacher / Teacher Trainer, Christine Le Poidevin, and co-taught by teacher trainer Debbie Wilson, the course leads to the Trinity College Cert TESOL qualification. (Coupled with a degree, that qualification permits the holder to work in a British Council-accredited language school in the UK and many language schools and colleges overseas.

Course Description

Course Assessment

In order to graduate from the course, you must achieve a pass in each of the five units in the course description. Each unit is weighted differently but is no less important in ensuring that you pass the course. Four of the five units are assessed in house by ourselves but the materials assignment will be assessed by an external examiner from Trinity who will also conduct an interview with you at the end of the course to ensure, amongst other things, that you are happy with the service we have provided you.
You will be given feedback as the course progresses and our trainers will always be available to talk about any issues you might have.

Entry Requirements

No previous teaching experience is required, but a high level of spoken and written English and evidence of qualifications for entry to higher education are needed. Trainees must be at least 18 years old and you will be required to bring copies of any educational certificates you may have to your online interview. Non-native English speakers require an IELTS score of 7.0 in all disciplines.

How to Apply

1 | You complete the application form online.

2 | We contact you, confirm that we have your correct details and arrange a suitable time for an interview. We will also send you a short pre-interview task, which needs to be completed and returned to us with your CV, copy of your highest qualification and copy of your passport before your interview.

3 | The interview takes place over Zoom.

4 | We confirm whether you have a place on the course. We send you an invoice for the total amount payable. We also send you the pre-course task, to be completed before the start of the course and to have on hand at your first session.

5 | Two weeks before the start of the course we must have received full course fees.

Course Fees

The CertTESOL course costs £1,550.00. This price do not include the cost of the examination from Trinity, which is approximately £150.00. Prices will be confirmed as soon as possible.

What's next after the CertTESOL?

The ELT has potential for progression in many areas. With a CertTESOL qualification and 2 years of teaching experience you could be eligible to complete a DipTESOL, which is the next level up. A DipTESOL qualification could offer you a career in ELT management, publishing, teacher training and much more.
